Just as good as the first time, even a bit better. Shusterman's examination of the value of life and death is stellar. Also stellar is Greg Tremblay on audio.
February 2018
Neal Shusterman is a genius. Seriously.
How he takes these everyday concepts and turns them an amazing, gripping, tension-wracked story that will keep you on the edge of your seat - it's beyond me. The guy has an incredible imagination. And with this series, like his Unwind Dystology, he brings a new perspective to the ideas of power and corruption and the value of life.
This was heartbreaking and fast paced. Although I guessed the plot twist (I KNEW IT!) it didn't slow down the action or take anything from the story. The characters were rich and dimensional and really changed over the course of the book. I can't wait to see where the trilogy goes from here.
Greg Tremblay could not have been a better choice for the audiobook narrator. He was magnificent.
