Roverandom by J.R.R. Tolkien

4.0

Delightfully fantastical and creative and full of all manner of curious creatures. I see why so many people like Tolkien so much. Though this story is purely for entertainment, as far as I can tell, without much of a moral, beyond the fact that you shouldn't bite a wizard's (or an old man who just might be a wizard's) trousers.

I checked this out from Manhattan Public Library on Thursday 10 February, and since I've renewed it the maximum number of times and it's finally due today, Sunday 24 April, I figured I had better finish it. I didn't bother reading the introduction in detail, though.
