The Clockwork Three by Matthew J. Kirby
Did not finish book.
Look, I've wanted to read this book for forever. I love the idea of it.
But the execution? Not so much.
There are 3 main characters, and their narration rotates every chapter. Pretty interesting actually.
But what I hated was that it was so obvious what the characters were going to do.
The tropes people. The tropes are all there. All the misunderstandings that just got too much for me to continue.
I had so much hope for this too.
I know that this is a children's book (mid grade reading. whatever that really means) but that doesn't excuse taking the easy way out.
This is his first novel, so I'll give him another shot. But only one more.
