Lottie Paris and the Best Place by Angela Johnson

3.0

First, I love love love the illustrations in this book and hoped the story, which is a great length for reading aloud, would lend itself well to pre-school library tours, but alas - I don't think it will. (I plan to test this out)
Secondly, I appreciated that Lottie Paris's race wasn't remarked on, that her father took her to the library, that she loves space, and that Carl's ride to the library was his hipster sister. So refreshingly modern!
Lastly, I defy you to show me a children's librarian who would frown on bubble-blowing in the library.
