The Forgetting
by Sharon Cameron
I went into this book with zero expectations. I didn't even read a summary. So I was delighted to find that this was a Dystopian novel with an original plot! That is so rare now!
Every 12 years, the city of Canaan wakes up having forgotten everything about themselves and their lives. Their only clues to their identity are the books they've kept record in.
But Nadia remembers. She remembers the father who used the Forgetting to his advantage and abandoned his family to start a new life. She remembers the violence and brutality that happens before the forgetting.
Together, she and Gray are trying to piece together the clues and figure out why the Forgetting happens and why they can't leave the protection of the city walls.
