This book was just beautiful. Thistlefoot is packed with whimsical writing that reads like a fairy tale, strong characters, a unique magic system and has the added bonus of having the POV of the house.

This is the first Baba Yaga retelling I've ever read and I enjoyed it so much.

Nethercott is truly a master of character and everything she writes feels so real and authentic. This book had me on the edge of my seat and feeling all the feels. The use of puppetry and performance was such an intriguing element and truly added so much.

My only criticism is that I wish we got more. More from the characters and their lives and more history. I would love to see this book and world expanded upon in every sense of the way. I just loved it so much and didn't want it to end.

If you love Ava Reid, fairy tales and lush writing, this is the book for you.
