The Ladies of Grace Adieu and Other Stories by Susanna Clarke

4.0

Clarke, much like Ted Chiang, has a way of perfectly capturing the voice of antiquity and then making it super fuckin' weird. Her fantasy is dark, eerie, funny, and strange, a cross between Austen, Tolkien, and Grimm. Most of these stories expand upon the world she so beautifully created in Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell.
