This was a very fast-paced story and I was able to read it pretty quickly. It read a lot like an insta-love romance but there was never really a declaration of love so technically I guess it was just a VERY strong instant attraction.

I liked the characters but never really felt the connection between them. I think that the secrets and desires that they shared with each other were supposed to be deep and meaningful and give the feeling that they share an intimacy with one another that they hadn't found before but what they revealed didn't seem that compelling to me.

I can already hear the complaints from readers about how easily Kat gave up her virginity to Tristan after holding onto it for so long but I'm a firm believer that sometimes when a person is ready, they are just ready. This story is a bit cliché but the way that the stepbrother situation plays into it is one of the better versions of a stepbrother romance that I've read. The way it comes about is a lot less icky.

This wasn't a story that really captured my full attention but I can't help but wonder if mood didn't play a factor in my opinion. Although this wasn't a story I LOVED, it definitely has me intrigued to the point that I NEED to know what happens next.
