Review: The "enemies" vibe in this book is strong! Even then, I love the chemistry displayed by Josh and Jules. Their banters are so fun, and it's so nice to watch them realise their feelings for each other. This book has a good blend of rom-com and dark romance, with the fluffy application of the best friend's brother trope and the kinky things they enjoy in private.

"The possibility of you is better than the reality of anyone else."

Josh Chen is such a complex character. He highly values honesty, especially having been lied to by his father his whole life and his best friend for seven years. He's also a doctor who's seen a lot of deaths, thus he values life a lot. Both points have been expressed very well in this book. I love the way he stands up for Jules even when he doesn't like her because he's just such a good person. They bicker and insult each other a lot, but he would never wish for any harm to happen to Jules. He's simply a green flag.

Jules Ambrose is such an interesting character with a complicated past. Even though she's made her fair share of mistakes, she rights her wrongs. She's afraid of losing what she has, especially when they're all built on lies – it had been established at the start of the book that she'd buried her past in Ohio and moved to Maryland to start afresh with a new last name. It's such a complex backstory, and I honestly feel that she is so strong. I also love how the author touches on her struggles as someone with a voluptuous figure – for example, people don't believe it when they hear that she is an aspiring lawyer. But she's smart, sexy, savage and such a sweetheart.

Even though the hate between Josh and Jules radiated, I could feel the attraction and love that came about as the story went on. He bore his heart out to her, and she realised that he wasn't as bad as she thought he was. He learned that even with all her recklessness, she was such a lovely person. I think that there's beauty in that. Even though they greatly hurt each other along the way, what matters to me more is the fact that they eventually had a proper conversation about it. Healthy communication! It takes a lot of maturity to be able to see past all that and choose to love. That's beautiful.

It's so nice to see more of Jules' best friends, especially Ava. This book also touches on Alex and Ava's relationship, which is certainly a huge plus for those who loved them in Twisted Love. The story also shows us a bit of Bridget and Rhys and even sets the stage for Book 4, Stella's story. The friendship the four girls share is honestly beautiful, and that is what forms the interconnectedness of this four-book series.

This book has a vibe that's more similar to Twisted Love than Twisted Games. It also touches on Josh and Alex's friendship following the events of the first book. I love how the author develops their reconciliation, sending great messages about friendship and forgiveness. It's honestly nice to see more of the male leads of the series, namely Alex, Rhys and Christian. The way everybody is related to each other, be it by friendship or family relations, is honestly so cool.

"You’re it for me. Whether it’s today, tomorrow, a year, or decades from now, that'll never change."

In conclusion, I highly recommend this book to people who enjoy dark romance and enemies with benefits. I suggest reading Twisted Love and Twisted Games before this book because several scenes in this book are add-ons to them. It just makes the series as a whole more enjoyable that way. Once again, this is a dark romance book, so as long as you understand that, this book should be fun! This book is for those who love enemies-to-lovers romances with a dash of darkness.
