Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

4.0

Emma is probably my favorite protagonist of Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunter universe. By herself, she is an amazing and strong shadowhunter. She does not enter the world as a naive and innocent girl that has to be saved by a man. But. Not telling Julian about the parabatai "curse" is just stupid and annoying. I hate that Cassandra Clare always has characters in her books that do this. Will, Jace, and now Emma thought that they had to push people away to protect them. It's stupid. If Emma truly loves Julian, which she does, she would be honest with Julian and they would figure everything out together. You can't save people you love by pushing them away for stupid reasons.
The only reason this book isn't five stars is the way that Cassandra Clare dealt with Emma and Julian's relationship. It had the potential to be a really good friends to lovers romance but Emma just had to stupid.
