Perfect Strangers by J.T. Geissinger

4.0

I dived into this book not knowing a single thing about it, other than it brought many to tears. I will say that that probably affected my reading experience waiting for this huge secret/tragedy to take place. And although, there are element's in this story that are going to affect a certain audience. I think I just got my expectations set on a certain scenario, that when it didn't happen I was like "oh, okay". I myself was not brought to tears, I found this book more along the lines of Adventurous, Feel Good, Romantic in the most Swoon-Worthy Sense!

This book was a solid 4 stars for me. Even though I wasn't brought to tears (like I was hoping), I still had a FANTASTIC time! J.T. does not seem capable of letting me down, she always writes these sexy MMC's that get my lady bits attention right away. The MMC, James, did not disappoint! This man whew! J.T. knows how to write a man....let me tell you. Also, I have to really highlight the FMC, Olivia. She is definitely my spirit animal in a lot of ways. I found myself chuckling and smiling like a fool throughout this book.

There were some quotes in here that just sung to my soul:
"I refuse to be a foregone conclusion."

"Don't you just hate it when a man opens his mouth and ruins everything?"

"One day they'll be like me, hurtling toward forty with stretch marks and wrinkles and a new compassion for others that only the decay of your own body and the weight of all your crushed dreams will bring..."

"What's wrong with red roses? Aren't they romantic?"
"Only to people lacking imagination. Real romantics never go for the cliché because passion is so utterly individual."

"...Life's too short to mince words. Our existence is measured in minutes. Seconds. Heartbeats. Time is the most valuable commodity we have, because it can never be replenished. Once it's gone...it's gone forever. And so are we."

"Duris dura fraguntur" Hard things are broken by hard things.

"Poison comes in so many sneaky forms, but pretty is the sneakiest."

"The days of you barking orders and me obeying them are long gone. You want me to jump for you now? I'm not asking 'How High?' I'm saying 'Show me the money, bitch' and negotiating price."

"There exists a field, beyond all notions of right and wrong. I will meet you there."

"...death is a friend we wait for. The merciful friend whose face we long to see."

*I still want to stress that just because I was not affected by certain elements in this story, I do believe it will be hard for others to read. Especially, those that have close experiences. If you have Triggers, I would suggest looking up TW so that when these little nuggets drop you aren't blindsided. But, if you're like me, I'd suggest diving in with an open mind and just settling in for a good time!

This was another enjoyable read by J.T., I am such a fan of hers and had a great time with this book!
