All My Rage
by Sabaa Tahir
One of the best books I’ve read in a long time. The topics were incredibly intense but the delivery was just wow! I’m usually not a big fan of books that are told from different point of views but this book definitely changed my mind about this. Racism, physical and sexual abuse, and alcoholism are some of the topics discussed. Alcoholism is something that I’ve experienced and to see Sal’s point of view and Misbah’s in regard to that, was pretty emotional for me. Noor was incredibly resilient and despite the diversity she dealt with, she came out on the other side of it quite positively. One thing I was curious about is her uncle. I was curious why he treated her quite terribly, despite being her saving grace. It seemed like it might have been out of love or kindness but Noor came to terms with the reality that it was out of obligation. This book was just a lot to digest but I loved every second of it. I went through an array of emotions reading it but I stand by what I said that it was one of the best books I’ve read.
