This was a fantastic read. Don't be turned off by the word vampire! It's really unlike any vampire story I've ever read.
The storytelling is so fleshed out! If you like books you can submerse yourself in and love knowing every detail, this book is for you. Even scenes where a dog got a bath felt totally vital to the storytelling. If you like full character development, this book is for you.
My only qualms with this book are:
1. I wanted it to be longer!!
2. Some of the twists made me very sad-necessary, I know. But *sniff*.
3. Some of the plot lines felt unfinished. Hopefully some of the holes will be covered in subsequent books.
If you like The Stand or The Dark Tower series, you should check this out!
