This book is not funny like hahaha but funny strange. Convenience Store Women by Sayaka Murata was a quick little read and unfortunately did not give me the same hilarious (at times), creepy, dark feeling as Earthlings. It instead made me feel sad, sad for society, sad for these characters and sad that this book lacks an ending.

Seriously though I thought my book was missing the ending and had to google it. Makes me wonder what was lost in translation - I cannot read or comprehend Japanese so I will never know. Is it the way the author writes? I am currently pondering why I consider this book should have more. Earthlings did just end without further explanation, but we were passed a specific point where it felt fine to end and let the readers assume the ending -I chose a happy one, I always root for the weird people.

You can just read the synopsis of what this book is about and that's it, no need for further explanation. I don't know what I expected but I wasn't satisfied I need a book 2 or something.

The author writes a terrific cast of characters. I was captivated and engaged. I'm just really pissed there wasn't an ending, endings don't have to be happy or sad it can even say they walked into the sunset and lived the rest of their life, something that lets the reader know it's over and not left to search google to find an ending. lol ok I'll let it go now.

The End
