Emily Wilde's Map of the Otherlands by Heather Fawcett

adventurous emotional funny hopeful lighthearted medium-paced

4.5

I adored this book. I would highly recommend it. A lot of sequels don't live up to the originals but this one definitely did.

I loved the continuation of the romance. Emily and Wendell were simply meant for each other. I love how he loves her for who she is and not who she is. And watching Emily battle her feelings for Wendell was very entertaining.

The setting of novel was just as magical as the first one. I loved the new fae we were introduced to. I love Fawcetts' depiction of the fae. They are deceitful and cruel which is more closely aligned with common mythology. Her descriptions of all the different species of fae were so vivid.

I loved the new side characters as well. I felt they helped the story feel more well rounded. They also helped add some levity to a darker story.
