The Forever Dog: Surprising New Science to Help Your Canine Companion Live Younger, Healthier, and Longer by Rodney Habib, Karen Shaw Becker

informative inspiring medium-paced

5.0

I heard about this book through The Ultimate Health Podcast.
"The Forever Dog" explores different things that dog owners can do to improve the quality of life for their furry companions. This book really dives into diet especially, but there are other elements to improve your dog's health explored in this book.
Overall, I thought this book was well-organized, well-researched, and provided practical and approachable ways to improve your dog's quality of life. Not everyone can afford to spend hundreds of extra dollars to provide the most organic and "perfect" diet for their dog, but this book highlights how valuable even small changes can be. This book also does a great job of not telling what is the "right" thing, because every dog and situation are different, but it presents everything and allows the reader to decide what is best for them. For example, there is no "perfect" kibble, but there are certainly brands and types that are better than others.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is trying to help their dog live a longer and healthier life.
