If Kayla wasn't swimming in straight up denial and literally ignoring danger at every turn i'd have liked this book better. I know a huge chunk of it was because

she was living in two different timelines, one past and one present,

but SO much of the stuff that happened to here was explained as her imagination or the wind. Girl needed a tiny bit more fear of batshit crazy stuff. Otherwise Aiden was adorable and the twist was nuts.
