I loved this so much! I haven't read Huckleberry Finn so can't comment much on how it adds to that, but as a standalone novel I thought it was fantastic. Funny when it needed to be, tense and difficult at times with enough hope and optimism to make it a still enjoyable read I think Everett has written an absolute cracker here. The story is real, eye-opening, un-easy when it needs to be and overall a novel that challenges and entertains in ll the right ways. I would absolutely recommend this.
