“I am not a metaphor.”
Feeling conflicted because I loved every idea of each of these stories but it felt like the execution fell apart the longer the story was. It was beautiful, it was thought provoking, I would’ve read a full novel of every story… but the substance of the stories felt strongest when it was a moment of ideas on the page and nothing more.
Despite this critique, there were many stories I appreciated in this. In chronological order, here is a list of the stories I’m likely to contemplate for the rest of time (complementary):
1. The Marks of Aegis
2. The Heavy Things
3. The Android That Designed Itself
4. Estranged Children of Storybook Houses
5. My Noise will Keep the Record
6. Wake Word
7. First Contact, Communion
8. I Am a Beautiful Bug!
