I REALLY enjoyed this story so much!!!  This was my first time reading it and HIGHLY enjoyed it.  My favorite part was when Bilbo met Gollum and the riddles they told.  I find it funny because I'm also reading through the Dark Tower series and at one point riddles are the main plot point used for Roland and crew to possibly continue....or not....their current quest.  I can only assume King got this idea from reading The Hobbit.

The only reason this wasn't a 5 star for me....and really it's a 4.5 star...is the fact that there was such a tone shift to me at a certain part toward the end, that it felt jarring to me and suddenly I wasn't enjoying it as much.  BUT will definitely give this a re-read in the future.  I'm excited to read LOTR soon now.
