To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf
5.0
"Starting from her musing she gave meaning to words which she had held meaningless in her mind for a long stretch of time."
This is my first time reading a full book by Virginia Woolf and I’m utterly captivated! gosh I just love her! Reading this book was a quiet meditation on time, loss, the power of memory, and the beauty of human connections. Though this book may seem pretty simple in its plot, it goes deep in the depths of human way of thinking in a poetic way. It tells the story of the Ramsay family and their guests on a summer vacation. The book paints a vivid picture of amazing atmosphere of summer and the ocean. Reading this, I could almost hear the gentle sound of ocean waves. It was truly peaceful!
The lighthouse in this book is more than just a lighthouse. It is a symbol of hope, a connection, and a reminder that even when our goals seem distant, and our dreams change, the human spirit can find inspiration and contentment in the journey and not just the destination. It’s like a star, it is always there.
Virginia Woolf masterfully captures the complexities of human relationship and the views of simple life. I cannot deny that this book is a challenging read, but surely it is worth the time! now I have the honor of storing this in my memory and cherish it, because reading it really was such a nice calm experience!!
