The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

3.0

This one is one of the longest read EVER!!!! At least for me. Trust me, if this was a bad book, I'd stopped when I said I would.

It was a hard first hundred pages, the story was slow, and it was just daily lives of ordinary people. Not much drama was happening, plus I could never tell where Susie was. Was she in heaven? The In-Between? Something else? That was a question I CONSTANTLY asked myself, and that kind of took away from the enjoyment of the story.

The Lovely Bones is something I had a LOT of patience with, only three hundred pages, but took over two weeks to read. But once drama worked it's way into the lives of her family on earth, my interest was back. I'm not saying that I like reading about people's messed up lives, but how many people would enjoy a book where people do the same boring thing all the time...? That's what I thought.

I finished it though, and I'm onto my next book All The Light We Cannot See.
