Asterix Omnibus #1: Asterix the Gaul, Asterix and the Golden Sickle, and Asterix and the Goths by René Goscinny, Albert Uderzo

It's slapstick in comic form. That alone was enough to put me off, but the rest of the humor wasn't any better. It read like something a 5th-grader would write, with a pile of overused jokes and a little background in Roman history. That said, it would probably have a lot more appeal to middle-school to early high school boys who often appreciate that kind of humor. I did like the twist near the end.
