Another instant 5 stars for Miss Oseman. These books have such a special place in my heart. Nick and Charlie are such great characters to portray the teenage experience and this one was probably the most realistic in terms of experiences. This one is my fave of all the Heartstoppers as I think although I’m now 27 I can relate so deeply to all those feelings about uni and ending high school etc.

I loved the themes and topics it explored and it really encompassed the years from like 16-18 when your trying to figure out what you wanna do with your life but you don’t want to disappoint anyone, and wanting to try things like sex but being scared and insecure, also finding yourself and who you really are without others expectations of you. All of the characters are so real and I love the authentic and honest conversations they have that really model how to have healthy relationships for teens. I work in a school library and this would be perfect for that year 12/13 age group. The conversations around sex was realistic which was nice, it wasn’t just straight into it being perfect and amazing, there was awkwardness that YA sometimes doesn’t show which is unrealistic.

There’s also humour thrown in there, and a little bit of education around other sexualities and people’s assumptions about people with Tori’s storyline.

I can’t wait to chat about this to my library kids (it’s so cool that they get to grow up with these characters!!!) and for the next installments 🥰🥰
