ccrtb 's review for:
This children's book was so ridiculous and dark that I thought it was written in Europe in the 19th or 20th century, so it made the book even funnier to me that it was written by an American and published in 2003. It really read like a grim but hopeful fairy tale. Was actually pretty sad, but still an amusing read. Something a fan of A Series of Unfortunate Events might enjoy and vice versa.
Also I love soup and thus loved the important role that soup placed in the story.
