August 2023. Mystery manga mentioned to me, sort of a Twin Peaks meets Invasion of the Body Snatchers meets Groundhog Day situation? A teen comes home for his adoptive sister/best friend’s funeral and there’s rumors she was strangled and didn’t die from drowning naturally. Then some body snatching happens and he relives his visit when he gets murdered by the baddies.
This is an interesting concept, it ends up a bit messy at times but I did enjoy it overall. Our main character lacks a bit of personality for me, but my biggest issue was the pervy moments.
The best friend/adoptive sister’s younger sister is 15, 3-4 years younger than the main character who has been away at college. And there are multiple upskirt panty shots, walking in on her in the shower naked (the most scandalous bits censored), as well as him falling face first into an adult woman’s cleavage.
It’s a mature manga, presumably there will be more moments of sexual contact or nudity in future volumes, which, fine. but you keep exposing a character you wrote as a 15 year old, to be read by adults, who is repeatedly being seen naked or in her underwear against her will. It’s creepy and unnecessary.
