The Unmothers by Leslie J. Anderson
2.0
Simplified summary:
Journalist investigating a small town rumor, uncovers something bigger.
Opening lines:
Myths about horses begin with the sea, but there is no sea near Raeford.
Review:
This is 90% small town drama and 10% kinda-horror. The writing itself is good, and if I had known that it had only a sprinkling of horror, it might have changed my perspective. Also, for a novel claiming to contain feminine rage there's not that much range in the women in this novel; they're either angry or pregnant. Or both.
