A Book of Five Rings: The Classic Guide to Strategy
by Miyamoto Musashi
Basic premise is “get good. Like me. I’m not going to tell you how. Do it yourself.” Not the revelatory experience I thought it was going to be. None of the terms are explained. Attitudes? Floating-feet style? What? The vagueness and constant exhortations to “research this properly yourself” just got on my nerves after a while. Read Art of War and then Takahiko Inoue’s Vagabond series for the book you’re probably expecting.
