The Umbrella Conspiracy by S.D. Perry

3.0

As a fan of the Resident Evil games, it's neat to get more insight into the characters and their motivations as you follow them through the plot of the first game. The writing was good and the descriptions of the enemies and atmosphere was spooky and visceral. However, I don't feel that I gained much from reading this story in addition to playing it. I started to get bored as the characters moved through the mansion, knowing exactly what was around each corner. I think this book suffered from adhering too strictly to the game, down to even the key items and puzzles, without taking creative liberties to spice things up. This is just a story better played than read.
