Mr. Wrong Number
by Lynn Painter
2.5 stars. I really need to stop getting my hopes up about my most anticipated releases.
I absolutely loved Lynn Painter’s YA romance she released last year, Better Than the Movies. I loved the characters, I loved the friends-to-enemies-to-lovers slow burn romance, so when I found out last year she was releasing an adult romance I got so excited, but Mr Wrong Number was missing everything from BTTM.
It had the promise of a fun plot and fun tropes like roommates and the brother’s best friend. However, the characters were bland and uninteresting, a plot was nowhere to be found outside of the “wrong number” scenario, and the romance did truly nothing for me.
I’m sad I didn’t really enjoy this. It was fine, but nothing memorable at all. I’ll probably forget all about this in a few months.
