I Want to Die but I Want to Eat Tteokbokki by Baek Se-hee

I don't know why I thought this was fiction the first time I saw the book. I added it to my TBR *ages* ago and came back to it last year only to find it was nonfic. I wasn't in the right place for that so I put it off again and today I'm kicking my past self for that decision but also thanking her because it means that today!me was able to enjoy this for the first time.

A very great read! A realistic discussion of depression. This was translated from the original novel but, as far as I know as someone who only knows one language, this sounds like the author herself is speaking it to me. There aren't any clunky word choices, nothing stands out like an "outsider" came in and chose arbitrary words. This very much reads as a work of love from the translator, Anton Hur, as much as it is from the author, Baek Se-hee
