Love love loved this book ☹️ Such an incredible story about love in all its forms — familial love, romantic love, platonic love, falling love and losing love. It was absolutely heart-wrenching, but I learnt so much from it and I’m glad I read this.
I loved that it split between the characters POVs because it really gave you deep insight into their feelings which made everything hit a lot deeper. Also, the depiction of Trinidadian culture was very well done; from the descriptions of food/cooking, the dialect, to the nasty parts like the raging homophobia in Trinidadian society. It was just a very REAL book and I throughly enjoyed it.
