The Year of Less: How I Stopped Shopping, Gave Away My Belongings, and Discovered Life Is Worth More Than Anything You Can Buy in a Store by Cait Flanders

emotional informative inspiring reflective sad medium-paced

4.0

The Year of Less is first and foremost a memoir on minimalism. The approach the author took was unlike any I had ever read before. She speaks about the problems with excess living. In her case she had trouble with alcohol, spending, and eating. As a result, she challenged herself to a shopping ban and it changed the way she thought about buying things, owning things, and why living with excess can be unhealthy.
