The Devil's Metal
by Karina Halle
Holy, bloody fucking HELL!!
5 stars are not even close to enough for this book. Karina Halle you are a MASTER!

This book is scary shit! If you are a scaredy pants (like me) you will not want to read this book late at night ... or in the dark ... or alone in a room ... or in a room with freaky looking people ... or anywhere you consider even remotely scary. I was seriously terrified for almost the full second half of this book!
It is set in 1974 - with a very cool heavy rock vibe permeating throughout the whole book. Even though I wasn't born until '75 & I'm fairly confident that Ms. Halle doesn't have much first hand knowledge either - it all felt so very authentic. I truly enjoyed being swept back to the '70's.
Of course there is so much more to this book than scares alone.
The characters are interesting & intense - our main character Dawn is flawlessly written - I absolutely love her (as I do all of KH's strong female leads).
There is some romance to the story.
Did I mention the sexy rock stars?
Throw in a couple of fun & perfectly written EIT tie-ins and you've got yourself a fabulous start to what promises to be another amazing series!
Anxiously awaiting October & the next installment!
