I borrowed this from my professor who wanted me to read if after she read one of my short stories. Exquisitely written, almost poetic. I loved the blend of reality and the fantastical. I flew through the last half of the book and felt emotionally invested in the characters. This reminded me a bit of A Series of Unfortunate Events which I read in my childhood. Of course, those books were written for children and this is for adults.
I felt like there was so much packed into this 200 hundred page book and I will definitely be re-reading it in the future.
