I really enjoyed this one! This is a great read for those of you who are into From Blood and Ash and other books like it. Between Life and Death has very similar vibes.

Sage is hiding that she is "cursed" -a label given to those who have additional abilities because of their heritage (they are killed if found out). Her brother is conscripted for the war against the cursed, and everyone knows these soldiers do not come home. Sage is determined to save him and get him away from the war.

Her adoptive mother, Ezra, connects her with a rebel group of cursed people to help her save Kaleb. Von is the leader of this group and she starts to develop feelings for him. He acts strangely around her and hints that there are things she should be remembering about herself...but we get really big reveals on who everyone is toward the end of the story. You get a huge cliffhanger reveal at the very end.

This is a very well written romantasy, very slow burn, little spice, but I have a feeling it's going to pick up in the next one. I can't wait to dive in!
