Love and Order: An Enemies to Lovers Romance by Stella Holt

5.0

Stella Holt continues to excel with this series, and this has been my favorite of the series! Love and Order is the fourth book of the Legacy of the Maguires series, and I knew I would love this book. This is an enemies-to-lovers vibe with the workplace romance setting, so I was ready for it!

Finn is the youngest of the Maguire siblings who recently obtained his JD (law degree) after his time with the US Navy Seals ended. After he secures his first job as an associate at a prestigious law firm in Washington, D.C., he meets a fellow associate, Hailey Adams. The two find themselves at odds when the firm decides to promote one of them to junior partner. Eager to earn a promotion, a workplace battle ensues between them as they find themselves on opposite sides.

Finn is immediately attracted to Hailey but knows that if he complicates things, it can end up bad for both of them. Little did he know that Hailey thought the same! Hailey has a dark past filled with struggle and anguish. She has learned to only depend on herself and not trust others, but as Finn shows her that he is not like the other guys, her walls slowly crack, allowing Finn to step inside and be the hero she deserves. I just LOVED the relationship blossom between the two of them. I was rooting for Finn the entire time. He was indeed a gentleman and genuine with Hailey's thoughts and emotions. Even though Hailey endured a lot of trauma in her past, she was so strong, and I loved how she always protected herself, even if it meant shedding those walls. I highly recommend this one!
