I will let you in on a Little secret, I knew this Book was going to be 5 Stars before I even picked it up! I have always admired Sir David and when I saw this book on a shelf in a holiday cottage and after checking with the owner I was told I could take it to enjoy and I did just that. I picked this one up as an Audio Book and Sir David reads his own memoir and made the entire experience a joyful one. 

 

Anybody who is a fan of his work should read this book; it's like having the man himself over to stay for a week or so and spending several sessions listening to him tell the most engaging series of anecdotes you will ever hear. I am genuinely sad that I've finished it; although it could have been five times as long and I still wouldn't have had enough. 

 

Attenborough's contribution to natural history broadcasting in the UK is without equal, and, in my opinion, unlikely ever to be matched. His autobiography is an incredible mix of stories on animal behaviour, technological advancement, the BBC, travel and exploration, people, places, the Queen...and more. His unceasing enthusiasm and determination is astounding, his knowledge and humour shine through every chapter.
