I hate myself for saying this... but I really didn't vibe with this.

The beginning was great. Thomas and Stella meet in Vegas on a joint Bach/Bachelorette party and they hit it off; there's flirting, banter, and a little spicy spice and it's fun. Their chemistry is great.

And then they wake up married and the entire rest of the book drags on from there. I have a love/hate relationship with slow burns because for them to work, the tension, the yearning, the chemistry it all has to be done to perfection, and this just wasn't that. These two felt like friendly roommates at best and I just kept waiting for something overwhelmingly romantic to happen but it never did.

I will say, Thomas was a man down bad and I love him for that. He listens and pays such close attention to every single little detail and I loved watching him shower Stella with love and attention... it's just too bad that she didn't really appreciate it. Sure she'd be like, "That was thoughtful" but then she'd immediately brush it off and reinstate the platonic rules that neither of them even really wanted to have in place 🙄

This book really just frustrated me to no end. Coming off of Cross the Line which was such an unexpected five-star read for me, I had a lot of high hopes for this that just fell flat 😭
