This dystopian YA novel was recommended to me during a discussion about diverse characters in books. I had mixed feelings about the ending but was pretty impressed with the rest of the novel. The writer created a future that shows the evolution of the socio-economic divide and ever growing apathy toward humanity, as well as the increased public accessibility of our personal data. The diverse character is part of the LGBTQ community, in case you were wondering. His sexuality is a subtext though, and not the focus of the plot.
