I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Changed the World by Malala Yousafzai

4.0

Initially, after finishing, I gave this a 5 star, then on second thought, reduced it to 4.
Maybe it’s the afterthought, maybe because I’m also reading another fantastic autobiography- Sigh, Gone by Phuc Tran- maybe it’s the sentimental me admiring how utterly amazing and brave Malala must have been, but I end up giving I Am Malala a 5 star again.

The simple writing that borders lightly on politics and history is my only complaint. Other than that, her story is already fantastic and inspiring. To be able to live in a war-free country, to be able to get access to public education, things that I may have taken for granted, now seem to be a privilege.

Update: After serious considerations, I moved my rating to 4⭐️ again. I just cant shake the feeling that the writing is off.
