Bent Right to Your Wind by Esther Valors
3.75
Before I begin I want to thank the author, Esther Valors, for giving me this ARC.
I really enjoyed reading this. I didn't expect the alternating POVs but I loved it. This was an emotional rollercoaster, that's for sure. One moment you're thinking "awww they're so sweet and everything will be okay" and the next moment you're slapped in the face with the most heartbreaking flashback. I don't believe that every flashback/chapter was necessary for the story. Sometimes it felt like certain things were just fillers.
Two quick side notes: How many Willow children are there?!? One moment they're with six and then later there 3 more. Also did anyone noticed the small T.S. Easter egg? It's so cute! In the song "Willow" by Taylor Swift there is a line that goes "Life was a willow and it bent right to your wind" and the last name of the family is Willow!!
Overall I really liked this book and I'll definitely read more of this author.
