A Touch of Darkness
by Scarlett St. Clair
The idea of a retelling of Hades and Persephone was a very good one. I enjoyed myself for most of the book.
However, I wasn’t prepared AT ALL for that amount of sex. And the level of detailed description. Cringy.
The urban fantasy side was easy going - not a lot of world building but it wasn’t annoying because we didn’t need it.
This book was overall « nice » but to make it good it would have needed less sex and less clichés characters.
+ Feel good reading, easy going, not complicated, enemies to lovers. Big plus when you love Greek mythology !
- superficial characters and mainstream plot.
Definitely going to read the rest though.
