Barbarian Lord
by Matt Smith
Matt Smith's BARBARIAN LORD is probably best described by its influences. Take a bit of Jeff Smith's Bone, mix in a large amount of Conan and Thundarr, steep with a large dose of Italian barbarian films, and add a bit of Swedish mythology. Finish off with a dash of wry humor and you're done!
If this sounds like something you'll like, go for it, because thats exactly what it is. Gorgeous, stylized line-work mixed with intentionally stilted dialogue, talking animals, and the usual barbarian blood feuds.
It's definitely not to everyone's tastes, but I found it refreshing and entertaining. I'm definitely going to look forward to whatever Matt Smith comes up with next.
