I won this book in a Goodreads First Reads Contest.
This comic was first manga experience. Yes, I have never read a manga before and it meant I had to get used to the way the book was set up. It is read front to back, right to left on page. When you haven't read that style of comic before it is a bit disorientating at first. I soon got into the groove of the style and enjoyed it.
I loved the old-fashioned, superhero, story-lines which seem a bit dated now but have a sense of nostalgia to them. I love that all the written sound effects in the comic were in Japanese Kanji. A translation for them was supplied below panel. I liked that it followed all the story-lines that artist Jiro Kuwata was part of creating.
Overall, a great graphic novel collection of the comics and a 4 star book.
