Amazing start, but drags towards the end. Maybe I expected too much from this classic. I appreciate it for the influence it had on modern culture. This book really cemented what our collective image of a ‘vampire’ is (the garlic, the bats, the wooden stake, not having a reflection, the fangs, etc… it’s all there). That being said, if it weren’t such a well-known classic, I probably would have given up after the first 100 pages.
