Superman, Volume 1: Before Truth by Gene Luen Yang

3.0

I'm a fan of Gene Luen Yang so I was intrigued to see this. I could go a couple of ways in critiquing the good and the bad about this story but ultimately I'm think what's holding me back is that I'm comparing it to my previous versions of Superman that I grew up with and are still attached to and it just isn't really fair to compare. How many times have I read stories where Lois finds out Superman is Clark Kent? And that his identity being exposed puts his friends in danger? Can this really compare to Alan Moore's Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow, or the 90s Superman run which led into the Death of Superman? Or so on and so forth.

Of course, New 52 has been replaced with Rebirth so...man I'm not sure I know why I'm reading this.
