I’m so sorry, but I cannot. I actually really enjoyed this book for the most part, it made me emotional in a good way but it became clear maybe 60% through what the conflict was and I pulled through because I had hopes but it just… it’s a personal no for me. I’m sure someone else has spoiled it somewhere so you can read that to check if my ick icks you too. otherwise full spoilers follow.

… she cheats on him. with his brother. she actually has sex for the first time ever with his brother. it’s… no. it’s quite horrible actually, she somewhat validly feels attention deprived and then… it’s just bah. and then he apologises to her as if it was valid behaviour. the cheating scene was also somewhat explicit and presented as hotter than it needed to be written as and in the moment she didn’t even think about her actual boyfriend once… and the BROTHER. it would’ve been bad with anyone, but the BROTHER???? what am i supposed to take from this love story? use your time wisely i guess, hold on to love if you find it, sure, do that, but you could bring that across without incest cheating. it’s such a deeply uncomfortable trope. if they had kissed, it would’ve already been bad but SHE HAD SEX FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER EITHER HIM AFTER HER AND HER BOYFRIEND HAD BEEN TAKING IT SLOWER FOR A YEAR. as other people have pointed out, if the roles were reversed people would go OFF at this book. it’s such a cheap plot point and i just will never understand why you write about it as the chosen conflict if you could write about literally anything else.
