I genuinely loved this book. There was a lot of science stuff that went way over my head that honestly could’ve been left out, but the story was wonderful and I cried. 

Something I cannot get over is how aggressively obvious it was that a cis white man wrote this book.
He meets a full-on alien that reproduces by themself and still uses he/him pronouns??! Come on.
But I guess he’s just writing from his own perspective. Regardless, I did truly love this book.
