Burn Down, Rise Up
by Vincent Tirado
Read like Stranger Things, in the best way. The main character is a queer teen experiencing some horrific and relatable trauma, while navigating high school. This book is a beautiful example of how powerful representation can be. Reading about a queer person of color’s experience, learning about the racist systems her and her family exist in, and trying to carve out a safe space for herself and her friends.
